About Prof. (Dr.) Nachiketa Mittal
Dr. Nachiketa Mittal started his career as an empirical researcher, law trainer, and project coordinator with New Delhi and Dehradun-based civil society organizations. Dr. Mittal has conducted empirical studies in over 150 villages in India as part of research and empowerment programs for women, children, disadvantaged groups, and the indigenous population. These projects were supported by the Ministry of Law & Justice, Govt. of India; UNDP; Partnership for Transparency Fund; and Uttarakhand Livelihood Improvement Project for the Himalayas (ULIPH). During his academic career, Dr. Mittal was invited by the then Chief Justice of India to work in the Supreme Court of India as an Assistant Registrar (Research) in 2016.Due to his passion for legal education, Dr. Mittal founded three online law teaching platforms during the national lockdown and outbreak of Covid-19. These are the Virtual Law School (VLS) under the aegis of KETAS Education Foundation (a Sec. 8 Company and 80G approved by the Income Tax Authorities); the Judicial Preparation and Advisory Center (JPAC); and CareerRun Consulting, which facilitates training and support for the student community. Dr. Mittal is also leading an empirical research project to examine the growing implications of ChatGPT and similar Artificial intelligence in legal research and law schools. Since 2014, Dr. Mittal has presented papers and lectured in various law schools in the United States and has published in a wide range of international and national law journals. Dr. Mittal also received a
Scholarship from the Charitable Trust Committee of the International Bar Association, London, in 2008.
